Twitter is twitter pated over reports he's in the hospital, that he's dead, or that he is fine. :unsure:

His air defense base was captured over the week end so it probably won't be long till he's playing cards "down there" with Sad Ham and Osama been bad

Assad may have been shot by his personal bodyguard and according to local news sources, he is suffering from serious wounds and fighting for his life at a hospital in Damascus. This information will be confirmed if he fails to show up to deliver a scheduled speech in few days and it sounds like a palace coup typical in the Arab world.

The Russians and Israelis are saying he's dead and that Iran is trying to set up some sort of puppet gov't before the rebels can capitalize on the power vacuum. Arab media is reporting that what's left of Syria's loyalist forces are defecting en mass to the FSA.

Mainstream media isn't reporting anything about Assad atm but it seems the leader of the rebellion's political arm has quit though the opposition is refusing to accept his resignation.

Looks like both sides are having leadership issues right now.
