known vs. the unknown

People generally feel they know what they are going to get with a Clinton. This known, may be a comfort to some, but to others the sense of the known has become a negative. (i.e. , I know my president is liberal, corrupt, a politician, etc.). people become comfortable with uncomfortable things. An abused wife may not leave, because the unknown (leaving), is scarier than the known, of (staying).

Trump, on the other hand is decidedly, an unknown. The only thing you know is you don't know him, and you don't know what he will do next. people who are tired of the known, are moved to him, maybe because of or in spite of his erratic nature. For this group, the unknown candidate outweighs the known.

Ya, I really don't think someone who gets the endorsements of the KKK and NK is really the sort of person would should be trusted with our nukes. Not disagreeing with your assessment but I think that the likes of Trump and Hillary speaks ill of the state of American democracy. I mean at least Putin plays at democracy, Trump brags about being a politician buying oligarch.

I don't know if Trump will be a great or a horrible president, but I do think I know (based on her political record) that Hillary will be a bad one.

I don't give too much credence to miscreants endorsing Trump. The media paints him as a racist (I don't think he is) and then they act incredulous when simple minds (KKK, etc.) believe their rhetoric and endorse him because they like that he may be "racist".

The media frames the issue then feign being aghast to the issue they purposely propagated.

If he's not racist (I really don't see how anyone can think he's not) he's certainly sectarian. That's not any better.

Given a choice between Trump and HillBill, I hate to say I would be forced to hold my nose and go with the individual who does not scare me and the rest of the world. In my opinion anyone with a thinking mind and some level of appreciation for what this country is and stands for will do the same.

The worst case scenario of the lesser of two evils...it's just one does not threaten to destroy the whole country.

Choosing between someone EVERYONE hates and someone only Americans hate isn't really a choice.

True....thus it becomes a matter of preventing something terrible by helping something unpleasant. Kinda like serving Tofu for dinner instead of burnt rat feces.

My hope is that the horrifying 'choices' turns strategic voting on it's head and prompts everyone to vote Green and Libertarian. It won't happen but a man can dream.

Hence, S C A R Y ! ! !

One generates more fear than the other, at least with HillBill there is something to form opinion from...with "The Dump" no one knows what he will do because even he does not seem to and what he says he will do is very bad.

I'm glad we're not going down a hyperbolic road here.

Trump polls badly globally, Hillary polls badly in America. If you want to be obtuse be my guest, it's your right to lie to yourself to make yourself feel better but you and everyone else on this forum know full well what I meant.

As I did not state anything remotely similar to that....I must assume the words came from your own mind.

Ok. I am capable of misinterpretation.

In my opinion anyone with a thinking mind and some level of appreciation for what this country is and stands for will do the same.

I read the above to mean that those that do not do the same have an unthinking mind (stupid) and no level of appreciation for what this country is and stands for (un-American).

Yeah...I figured you did....that would be why I made the reply. This is one of the reasons placing words into the mouths of others often derails discussion and is usually avoided. More appropriate and useful is to quote the actual words typed and begin debate by asking for clarification or commenting on what was said instead of what your mind makes of it.
