Kucinich shreds Democrats for betraying the promise of change

Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) on Wednesday said the Massachusetts election was a "wake up call" for Democrats and that his party had better change course or it could suffer devastating losses come November.

"People elected Democrats in 2008 to change the country's direction," he told Raw Story in a nearly hour-long interview.

"And the same entrenched interests that George Bush could not shake, this current White House is having great difficulty in shaking. One could suggest they might be more entrenched than ever."

Although I do not agree with all of his policies, I have always respected Congressman Kucinich because he has time and time again shown that he is not a machine politician and that he will fight for what he believes is right. Same stands in this example.

A politician sounding almost sensible?!

To be fair, Obama never intended to change much beyond who was the president anyway.

I will agree he would be better than the one we have. But I hope he is never "running" anything pertaining to me.
I remember either him or Dr. Paul were asked whether they would run with the other should they have won the nomination last year. Despite their idealogical differences, it would be a possibility as those are probably the two most honest men you'll find in Washington today. What a team it would be...

What Kucinich has demonstrated to me, over and above everything else is the dissension in the ranks of the Democrats. The only time when they were standing together was at the time of the election of Obama. Ever since Obama took over, and started to make important decisions, they have been bickering with one another, and with the last election in Massuchusetts this rift has just totally come to the fore. It is a very difficult one to mend, as the Democrats have such differences in opinions among their own ranks, I don't know how they can hold their party together, and if they can't, the Republicans are going to cash in in a huge way. More than a good campaign manager, Obama needs to find a way to mend all the rifts within the Party, so that they can speak with one voice.

I must say my heart is not breaking that the democrats are sinking their own ship. I think I may have said on here that they would not learn anything from the crash of the republicans. I knew they would be arrogant and march off the roof! Just too bad for our country that I was right.

Good point. Probably their first priority should have been to keep everyone in the Party on the same page, instead most of what they have "accomplished" (including taking up so much space and time with the healthcare reform legislation) have in all probability torpedoed their ship:smug:

hahahahaha! Kucinich as president, you gotta be kidding. Why do people even bother living in a Democracy if they want someone like that running it. Hey, he did see Aliens and a UFO! We really do need to step up our communicating with Aliens though and he apparently has connections.
