While I agree that democracy isn't for everyone and that these revolutions do have bigger meaning than the oil and market outcomes, they are still of importance.

Even when it comes to diplomacy with other nations oil interests are certainly playing their own role.

All over the world people object to being colonised, and you don't need a Governor-General with a feathered hat to be colonised - just someone like Mubarak to take orders. Democracy is the best way to stop foreigners taking over your country, which is why there is hardly any left in the UK. Good luck. Middle East!
