I mean come on. The guy is taking a train up to washington and his favorite president is Lincoln? does this not say something about his state of mind? Lincoln being the savior to the African Americans and working with them. The train tracks built by the African slaves during slavery. I think this is just a way to say, "Look, i'm black and i'm showing my colors and here comes the soul train".

Nothing wrong with this of course. But with any race, it's wrong to just focus on your own. Obama is already showing a one sided view on race. And what's with all this media hype about the inaguration? I mean come on, it's just another day, people here in california are making plans and getting ready to party and have drinks? I see it as just another excuse to drink and act stupid.

saying that, i've noticed here that African Americas are already using Obama as a way to win an argument. Saying things like, "Obama is the president and he's black so you got nothing on me". I see African Americans bringing up Obama in every controversial conversation in the near future. End of rant.

Hmmm from what I have read above I see a different side to Obama... All this about people using him as an excuse to win an argument is just daft! You don't see others going around and saying anything like that

I'm sure some idiots are clearly using him to justify some stupid argument but they forget that he's part White as well. So technically a White person could use him to justify things too, which would be stupid as well.

As for the train, and Lincoln, there's nothing wrong with having some pride for your own race. However you can't let it get to your head. I hope he does not become one sided when making choices that affect the whole nation.

So your saying just because someone of a certain race goes to see his own kind for a short period of time, you think that's racist? Say you were African and you got voted for president.. would you be a jerk and go meet the white people first, or learn to greet your own race first? I don't see why you think this is even compared to as being racist...

Dictionary meaning: a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others.

How does Obama in that situation think his race is more "superior" than the others?

Another reminder of Poe's Law. I have no idea whether the opening post is sarcastic or not.

I think adding the whole race thing to it is just ridiculous from any angle. It is good to know that racist attitudes don't prevail in America, but Obama is just another politician. I think it's a little crazy just how much is being done for his inauguration. 4 of my friends actually traveled to DC and are going to camp out on the Mall for the night just so they can be one of the 5 million in the city. Just crazy.
