Will we be forced to islam? obama is as far as I know the only president that took a religion into the white house to kick off its religious holiday. (seperation between Government and religion) The next thing will be their way of law. The flood gates are open and hes letting them in. So much for keeping Americans safe.

As in many things, he is not on firm ground as far as being a Christian. Many Christians are dead set against that baby killing thing.
I think it should be the woman's choice. At leaast for as long as the foetus is wholly dependent upon her.
Here if you kill a pregnant woman and the baby dies in her you are charged with two murders. So that is what some think should happen to a doctor who does the dirty deed. I think 3rd trimester it is barbaric. Never thought you would hear that word from me did ya?

I think it should certainly also be subject to a doctor's conscience.
The pope also thinks using condoms is wrong. In my opinion, that guy is an idiot.
As for abortion, I'm fine with it so long as it's early enough in the pregnancy.
I don't have much faith in the "doctor's conscience" thing. How can you trust people that get up one morning and think, " I want to look up some old man's hairy anus everyday for a living".
There are so many of their decisions on these things that make me ponder in my old age.

Probably has something to do about helping save lives and the 6 figure income. What I don't understand is why so many people dis doctors, but continue to go to them. Not you personally, but I know a lot of others that do this and I think to myself "no one forces you to go to them."
I was actually forced to go for a while. I did not want to take chemo. I understand my family putting on the pressure. But my company I worked for tried it too. Then their insurance told them it was not legal.
I could write a book on why people dis. doctors. Latest reason here, my very sick wife has a prescription for one of her heart meds. It was written on the 3rd of this month. At this time the insurance company is waiting for a reply from the doctor as to why she needs this medicine. I watched the drug store call his office on two different occasions with promises made he would take care of it. If you deal with enough sickness and doctors you will see why they are not so respected sometimes. Bad enough some people think doctors are God. But when they think it, people can die.

I agree some doctors are just terrible, but there are some that do genuinely care for all of their patients. My mom had cirrhosis of the liver. Prior to finding out, one of the specialists that she was seeing kept telling her, oh it's fine, nothing to worry about - just an iron deficiency or something like that. Anyway, it was quite advanced by the time that she went to see another doctor. However, her specialist now is great. In a sense, the transplant specialist and donor gave her many more years of life... maybe not god in a traditional sense, but that's pretty god-like to me.
Anyway, perhaps it would be best to try a different doctor if the one she has isn't doing his job in your eyes. Hopefully it will get settled.
Glad to hear things got better with your mom. Still no word on this end. We may have to try something with this doctor. He works with all her other doctors, even the one that had her heart out on a tray once. If we fire this guy we will have to switch a whole group of doctors. Maybe one of the others will sign off on the medicine. The whole mess is senseless.

On the subject of life, an individual that harnesses and utilises the power to give life, rather than to take it away, certainly has my respect.

So what happens when this person needs to take a life away in order to "give a life"? The negative comes right on the back of the positive? As they always do?
Wouldn't it be wonderful if life were just that easy, consisting only of black and white. Between the two of them, they make for healthy/unhealthy grey that confuses the hell out of people, or should I say the hell into people most of the time ....

As a hopeless person I see much more black than white these days. And that is no fun at all.
