What do you guys all think of the Tiger Woods issue. He really screwed himself up big time. Scandals and drugs - the two things that can cause the downfall of a celeb. Don't you agree?

I think he had a "dream life" and was so "greedy" that he lost it. Good health beautiful wife and family. More money than his family would ever spend. And he had to have more. I think he got what he deserved.

Bingo! Beers all around. For the non-drinkers, heck, have a coke!

Coke or "a coke"? ;) (speaking of drugs)

Coke's not bad, mixed with vodka. Irn Bru is better, though. I like a nice cold beer now and again - i drink socially. :)

I feel sorry for him. I genuinely believe that he is a bit naive and that by the looks of the other women got pursued, grabbed and nabbed. I hope he and his family can get past it, and thought it was a good move on his part when he called time out from golf for a while. He is a fantastic player, hope that this won't affect his concentration on his game.

I don't even care about his golf. I am thinking of the disease he could have brought home.

I think people put to much on the standards of celebrities. And who it is, is sometimes shocking to some more so than others. Would you be as surprised if it were Bill Clinton or Charlie Sheen? Probably not, those who hold such people such as Tiger to certain standards are unrealistic of the basics of man. Chris Rock once said, "a man is man, a man is as faithful as his options".

Problem is that Tiger Woods was sold to us as someone who was a model citizen. And the way he reacted was sending a message that he did care what he did to his marriage. If he had not, he could have got a divorce and moved on as most celebrities tend to do. Instead it almost drove him to suicide when he realized what and with whom (totally indiscreet and less than desirable ladies) he had been involved.

The whole thing makes me sick, I feel bad for Tiger but I think the media and the silly public are whats really disgusting here.

Two words, WHO CARES?!

Its none of our business if he slept with lots of women, the puritans need to get over themselves and get laid once in awhile.

Hes a golfer, not a marriage counselor and his actions make him an asshole to his wife and its none of the rest of our damn business.

Besides, the way the american media talk about it they would be more forgiving if the guy beat his wife then sleep around on her!

Shame on the american public and its sick media ...

Your people are so sexually repressed, its no wonder why your religious leaders are constantly being caught molesting children ...

That's the problem, why would anybody accept anyone as a model citizen. There is no such thing. We have all done something in our lives that take us out of that category. Suicide, big deal, I feel no sympathy for someone dumb enough to do this, if they are that screwed up, then they were just wasting oxygen. And the women?????Who hasn't had a questionable one?

I lived in Manhattan for a year, San Antonio for 6 months and have been everywhere from Michigan to Florida to California to Washington.

My mother is yank and shes one of the best people I know.

Most Americans are just fine, average people, its the fact that your media has been taken over by the greedy, rich and those who hate democracy and equality and they prey on the fact that americans have less education than Europeans and they shovel your minds full of lies and bullshit and your people swallow it because of a mix of stupid patriotism, baseless pride, fear and the fact that you never examine life in other countries or you still think its 1949 around the world *L*

As for the people, they are salt of the earth, most of them, they just have a poor education and have been taught by your media that "greed is good" and that feeling connected to your community and neighbours is evil communism *L*

Till today I have many yank friends, some I cant talk about politics with because it hurts them to imagine that the country they were born in, the one they were told was the "greatest on earth" is actually one of the crappiest in terms of wages, size of middle class, worker rights, consumer rights, pensions, social services, education, health care, religious population ... did I miss anything?

But then there are some americans that get it, they have travelled, they ask questions, they study, they educate themselves, they ask "why is it americans get kicked out of their homes and families have to move into tent cities while in another country, which makes a fraction of the amount of money the u.s. does, they can retrain those parents, give them a transition home to live in and help them with money until they can get back on their feet?" they ask "what is wrong with the u.s. that it has become one of the crappiest places to live?"

Get with reality please, if not for your sake or the sake of the world who needs to put up with you, then do it for your kids or your grandkids or your friends grandkids, stop watching fox news and educate yourself, your whole country would flourish if you opened your eyes.

I don't believe Fox news anymore than I do CNN. But I don't trust CBS, ABC, or NBC. NBC is even more one sided than FOX. As for the rest of the world, I care less everyday what they think about anything. I watched the rest of the world blame anything and everything on the US for years. I would never presume to tell any other country how they should live. And I would never ask them how we could be more like them. This country is in bad shape right now. But I would still rather live here than France (Don't care for them at all) Egypt, Mexico. And I have been to Mexico. I don't even want to live in Canada. For one thing it is too cold for this old man.:p

Meh, Canada has its problems but one of them isent families going bankrupt for health care and our philosophical approach to society is very different, you would call it socialist but Europeans find us too conservative (which is true, business has too much power here, WAY WAY too much in the u.s.).

I have yet to hear a good reason for americans to hate france, honestly, you both share so many characteristics, old memories of revolution, both pushed for justice (at one point), hell, ur biggest symbol of liberty was a gift from france!

See, its this shunning of others that just makes things worse in the u.s., if i went around thinking i was the best on the block and all of a sudden i notice my neighbours with more free time, happier, with a nicer house and a better car I can either go all sour grapes and say "who gives a shit how they do it, I wont change" or you can say "hey, what can i learn that they are doing differently that will make MY LIFE BETTER!" and then go about asking questions and trying things.

The u.s. needs to change, not by going back to the ancient past, that wont get you anywhere.

Right, but then there is a certain mediocracy that goes with this territory. Services are mediocre and fair, as compared with great.

I am totally on the side of Americans on this one. Yuck! Look at their Presidents, the one being as much as a womanizer as the next, and doing it openly and publicly. I find the French very argumentative, it is one country that I have no interest in visiting.

I don't think this has anything to do with saying one is superior, therefore one does not like the French. It has more to do with knowing yourself, and knowing you are different, and choosing to take a stand.

I like the Americans, I think for any country to be able to manage 50 States successfully and in peace as the United States has done for more than a century is a great feat. They could certainly improve on it, as things are getting overregulated and perhaps time, like a computer to reformat the hard disk or clean up the files. But all the basics are there. Must be awesome to be able to have the choice of settling in 50 States, which are the equivalent and size of 50 countries. Contrary to the impression that most people have, the majority of Americans have access to health care and those who have emergencies can be treated for the emergencies at any Hospital. Reforms are needed, and Americans are asking for reforms, but a large number are of the opinion that Obama's reforms are not the right ones.

You would be incorrect, more specifically you could argue one point here or there but just pretending its mediocre, thats silly, again, the u.s. is not number one *L* you have to look at stats, dont worry, I can dig them up, including the fact that you have a 3rd world rate for infact mortality.

Who cares? A president is supposed to preside over the country, their job is to make sure things run smoothly and good for everyone, anyone who wont vote for the better president just because he womanises has got to check their priorities, why not just vote for someone for wearing the colour blue? *L* it makes about the same difference in their skills in being president.

I wasent saying France is superior, just that I have yet to hear a rational explaination for your countries, silly, baseless hatred of france, everyone else just shrugs over france, as they would with germany or england, its only the u.s. that hates france and I still have yet to hear a good reason why.

Come on *L* what does that have to do with anything? look at the u.s.s.r. or china then *L* please ...

Any american thats scared of Obamas reform has no clue how healthcare works in modern countries.

I talked about this today with a friend that lived in Arizona for 10 years, he told me the same horror stories I have seen for myself for decades, sure millions have healthcare, thats true, they still pay WAY more then modern countries but besides that fact their are tens of millions without coverage, its like Chris Rock says, when he was sick as a kick they would just buy a bottle of robitussin, thats all they could afford.

Well, if you look at all your points above as well as in your previous postings, one could easily think that you have something against Americans? So it is OK to have something about the Americans but not the French? I doubt that some of the people in the United States (I'm certain that not all Americans are against the French) are the only ones that do not care about the French. There are a large number of people internationally who do not care much about French politicians either and who find French politicians inclined to lose their cool and just full of peculiarities. I thought some Canadians also had issues about the French, particularly on the level of the French sometimes being more equal than the English in Canada? They will of course not speak loudly about it, as that would be politically incorrect, but privately I've heard remarks and irritations about the Qubecois?

The reason I hate France is because they are "fair weather friends. We can't count on them because they really don't like the US. So they can just look down their arrogant noses at the rest of the world forever. That is fine with me.

France is a beautiful place. The people are delightful and the food is excellent. The Government... well, then again, i'm not a fan of any Government really.
