TWA Flight 800 Shot Down by Military Missile?

I believe that it had been in the air for a bit. Either way, it doesn't matter as much (I'm not an engineer, so these things get a bit jumbled in my head). The fuel vapors got set off by a spark and caused an explosion. Pretty simple. It's the best guess that they could come up with that fit all of the evidence.

It also does seem to be a serious theoretical problem. It seems that the FAA had two mandatory upgrades to fix the problem and Boeing invented a system that's only job is to prevent this from happening again.

Based solely on this post I would have to agree with you 100%. I have never bought much into conspiracy theories. Maybe because I don't want the reality to be that the government is out to do vicious things to our own people or maybe because either way it doesn't affect me personally. I know that is horrible to say but when it really comes down to it, how much do people really care about the bad things that happen in this world if they aren't directly involved? I don't know many people that would get emotional unsettled for this.

As old as the thread is, I've looked at the OP. I would be rather careful in using whatreallyhappened as it's proven itself to be misleading on a couple of the major topics it discusses. I'm afraid I'll be searching elsewhere for information of the shootdown theory, but having some familiarity with the TWA flight that crashed in the Everglades in '95 the idea that a spark caused flight 800 to explode in mid-air is hardly anything I'd consider outside the realm of possibility. :\
