They lost the war for the same reason the Confederacy did-they overreached against a combined enemy that could put 10x1 personnel in the field and out supply and retrofit their armies on a scale of 15x1. It didn't matter that the German war industries produced magnificent machines such as the Panther tank, the ME 262 and the best assault weapon in existence if after 4 years of war you had no experienced pilots or tank drivers and a bunch of old men and kids wielding the weapons. And Uncle Adolf was no Napolean....
The Confederacy lost the war because they decided to try and take Gettysburg and ended up being totally routed. Had they not fought that battle and won at D.C. (which they probably would have seeing as the city was already under siege), they'd have won the war despite the logistical issues. Sorry to nitpick, but some people don't realize just how close that war was.
