when a media is controlled by a political party/ideology:
-free press is no more
-truth is cut off to the public.
-corrupt press is used to place chosen candidate into power
-corrupt press is used to hide that candidates corruptions
Then the public will then naturally get its information from wherever they can. Treason to you may be righteous rebellion to someone else.

Hopefully you understand that we here in the United States have the freedom to change the channel to media we enjoy and feel better about. I even heard tell we kin get news from places cross da sea ifn we wanna.
In order to be controlling the media the entire world would need to be in on it. Even right here we have Fox to counter MSNBC...basically the media cannot control anyone who does not wish to be.

I think it does matter but despite that, I agree that people can get their news elsewhere. The key difference is I believe the media is bought, by the liberal elite and there is dangerous power in this.
