Your arguments are getting weaker and weaker. Pick up any large newspaper and you will likely find something about intruders breaking into a home killing or injuring the owners. I doubt that you will find much about aliens on the moon.

Your usual idiotic statements. We live in the country. Our nearest full time neighbors are over a mile away and law enforcement is seven miles and probably fifteen to thirty minutes away. We love it out here with nature, but, if we want anything done, whether it be plumbing, carpentry, electrical or self defense, we are prepared to do it ourselves.

Also, because of our physical location, we frequently get strangers stopping by wanting help. Given our age, I am eighty and my wife is slightly younger, we are no match for just about anyone who wants to do us harm. Guns are the equalizer.

Keeping and knowing how to properly use our weapons pose no harm to anyone except someone who is stupid enough to try to do us harm.

Danger from one direction does not preclude us from protecting ourselves from danger in another direction.

I will grudgingly admit that a gun makes some sense for people in your position --- but your position is not that of the urbanized masses.

It is just too bad that you live in such a barbaric country that you cannot have even minimal trust in the people surrounding you.

My son "trusted" he car was safe being parked on the street for a couple hours in Vancouver (B.C.) in the daytime. He was mistaken, as it was broken into.

Unfortunately, there are bad people out there and getting rid of our guns will not change that.

I expect to go my entire life without firing a gun in anger, but I am prepared to protect ourselves in the event the unlikely happens. It like what the ninety year old lady with a 44 Magnum Pistol said when asked what she was afraid of. "Not a damned thing".
