Would you still follow the same religion if you were not born in it?

I feel like most people answered the question you asked. Would they be in their current faith if they weren't born into? In my case, yes. I could have been born into any religion, but I still feel confident that I would have become an atheist.

If I'm still missing the point, please clarify.

Not really... I am Jew/Christan, though my mom is Christan, I follow neither... I am mostly a non believer, and no one religion will win my heart, though some religions traditions and customs appeal to me more than others, I don't follow that religion.

I would. I was not born into the religion I currently practice.

I was born into one of the super churches you hear about. There were well over 10K members in the church. Early on I realized I didn't believe in what they did. Imagine being a young preteen among the strongest of Christians honest enough to tell them you didn't believe.

It was sometimes uncomfortable.

This is a very tricky question, as Alothough i believe my religion w3holly, i'm not sure i would be following it if i wasn't born in it.........simply bcoz if i were a christian, jew, hindu or atheist i would not have taken pains of getting enough knowledge about Islam.

I wasn't really born into any specific religion. My mom believes in god, but doesn't follow any specific religion. She told me that she did not force religion on me and that she waited until I was old enough to make my own decisions. I think this is the way it should go regardless of what religion your parents are. I have read quite a bit of the bible and I have been to church, have thought deeply about what I believe and have come to the conclusion that I do not believe a higher power exists - certainly not one as described by the abrahamic religions.

It certainly may have been different if my family was deeply religious and if I lived in a different country, as family and societal pressures can have a huge effect on your beliefs.

As an atheist I would have to say from what I have seen around me that if I had not been given the choice, to make my own judgment I may very well have ended up Living the life that many others lead. in the hope that their time here is nothing more than what they make of it.
