Thanks for the photo myp. I can't see anything however. Just dust! Photo No. 8 looked close to reality, were the photos take in sequence, or were they put together at random?

There are several photos actually (click the little arrow to the bottom right of the image.) There were other aerial shots from satellites and such, but this is the only one from an aircraft. Probably not the biggest deal to most people, but I just found it interesting.

Right, I noticed that just before you posted your response. Were the photos taken in sequence? Photo 8 to me was recognizable, but must have been early on as there had not been as much dust as with the others?

I don't think they are sequential and although you may have similar pictures from satellite, etc., I doubt you saw that exact picture, unless you recently saw it since they were just released.

I was not even thinking along those lines, i.e. whether from another source or not. I was looking at the photos on their own merit, I just could not see the twin towers. I'm sure they are legit in various phases of collapsing, but apart from Photo No. 8, which may have been taken first, I can't see anything, except dust.

I imagine the ones taken were the same ones referred to by CNN, i.e.taken by the NY Police Aviation Unit? Below is a link to the CNN version:

Sad photograph and a sad day for America!
Certainly. I lived in New York at the time and that day and the days after are something I will never forget. I really wonder how different the course of this nation and the world would have been had that day never happened.

That's something that we'll always have to think about. I'm happy that Bush decided to invade Afghanistan, it showed them that they couldn't treat America like they did without any retaliation.

I don't think anyone would've opposed that- the vote was unanimous.

One of those days when people will always remember where they were and what they were doing. I was in a grocery store in Frankfort Kentucky when my wife called me on the cell.

I was at school, getting picked up early for a dental appointment I had. Never made it to the dentist. I was quite blood thirsty after that, tried to join the army at 17 to fight (eyes kept me out).

I think everyone that loves America was ready to step up that day.

Yah, Iran offered to help (which is not actually surprising, considering how much they dislike the Taliban).

Shame emotions clouded judgement, really. It might have been possible to get Bin Laden without bloodshed.

I really don't think they were ever out to capture him. I think the plan has always been to give him a slow painful death. I would like him dead, but not too fast.

I still think it's a bit sad that it's at the expense of ordinary Afghans. :(

Definitely. I was in school that day and at lunch one of my friends said that he heard the twin towers were attacked, but we weren't completely sure. Turns out the teachers were told not to tell us so we did not get scared as a lot of us knew someone in the towers. They did pull out the kids who's parents were in it though just to let them know that their parents were safe, etc. The school ended up making an announcement before dismissal letting us know what happened. When I got home I ran to the tv, only to find most channels not working since the signal was previously relayed off of the towers. Really crazy day and one that I will never forget.

I was in Canada at the time, and it felt as though we had been attacked at the same time. All Canadians had been equally devastated, as this had been a premeditated invasion and attack on the people of the United States, basically an act of War with no regard to civilians. It was a totally unbelievable event. I still can't believe that naysayers can say that the US presence in Afghanistan is due to an "irrational fear". What happened had been very very real!

I will say it again. Some people just blame the US first. Makes no difference what it is. The US is at fault and Bush probably ordered it.:p
