Evil exists in the world. But God is all-powerful. Why then doesn't He remove all evil from the world?

I once encountered a pretty good answer to this. What if evil has been removed and we're just so spoiled that we think less good is evil without ever knowing what true, utter evil actually is. Scary thought.

Not sure I follow that - evil never had to exist in the world in first place, did it?

The point is that maybe evil doesn't exist and we just have different levels of good to go by. I'm not saying it's true, just an interesting argument I've encountered.

Free Will. Without the ability to choose the wrong, we don't have the ability to choose the right. Thus evil results from the individual choices of every individual. Now whether there is a devil that helps tempt individuals to make evil choices ...

Evil is the result of man's choices. The only way to remove it is for God to strip man of his free will.

But do we have free will? According to certain physicists, everything is pre-determined though we have no way of understanding this pre-determination thus free will is only an illusion.

Yes

So you say.

Thats so much gobbldeygook. Physicists should stick to physics.

They do. ;) According to some physicists everything has been pre-determined from the start but in order to know what fate has in store you must know the location of every particle in the universe which we can't know, thus we enjoy the illusion of free will though it doesn't actually exist.

Again, that's so much crap.

The source of all Truth is God, and God's definitive Word to mankind is Jesus Christ.

To understand this, we listen to those who God has appointed as teachers - the Apostles and their successors - not to some pointy headed physicist.

So you'll take the word of some 2,000 years dead Roman politicians who co-opted a Jewish sect over the words of respected scientists? Odd priorities you have.

I have no idea what that means.
But, I'll take the Word of God and His Church over some pointy headed scientists any day of the week and twice on Sundays, especially when those scientists are talking about something they haven't got the slightest clue about.

Imagine, a "respected" scientist thinking that science can prove that history is already written! LOL. Who are they respected by, Homer Simpson?

Some of us might not respect scientists as much as others. As for me I give them the same respect as anyone else. No more, no less.;)

I respect good scientists who stick to science , not ones who try to go into areas where science can't go. In fact, let me quote this:

Faith and science:

"Though faith is above reason, there can never be any real discrepancy between faith and reason. Since the same God who reveals mysteries and infuses faith has bestowed the light of reason on the human mind, God cannot deny himself, nor can truth ever contradict truth." "Consequently, methodical research in all branches of knowledge, provided it is carried out in a truly scientific manner and does not override moral laws, can never conflict with the faith, because the things of the world and the things of faith derive from the same God. The humble and persevering investigator of the secrets of nature is being led, as it were, by the hand of God in spite of himself, for it is God, the conserver of all things, who made them what they are."

Evil is the result of SOME men's choices - why doesn't God "rescue" the victims who didn't choose evil, but are victims of it? Eg, the jews didn't "choose" to be victims of the Holocaust.

How do you know He didn't "rescue" them? There is a life beyond this one you know. Our life on earth is but a wink of an eye compared to eternity. Your thinking is too myopic.
