He's gonna cut $ TRILLION off the FED in the first year
I am glad you did that. There is no need to triple post, especially in a spam of 3 minutes with 3 1 liners. I merged the three posts in this thread.

Yeah he is a little too forgiving in some cases for me.That would be great, and he's my favorite candidate by far out of this pack . . . but I don't believe he's going to actually win.
Too many Republicans dislike his foreign policy, and that's just not going to change any time soon.

Okay. Let me put it this way. His take on some things looks "weak" to me. And I think he would look weak to our many enemies around the world. He isn't really forgiving, but just has another take on why things happen as they do.

That will not change in the next 50 years or more. They were taught to hate us.Or... they might not have a reason to be our enemies anymore?

Nothing we could ever do would change the way some of them feel about us.
I heard the "blame America first" theory for years. I just don't buy it. I see no sign from countries like Iran that they want to kiss and be buddies. The whole idea behind Paul's foreign policy is that it is not indoctrination or blind hatred, but politically motivated by American aggression. See the work by people like Robert Pape for more on that.

myp;25081 That too does not make much sense.[/QUOTE said:Not to you. But it makes as much sense to me as the theory that they really like us and just want to be friends. I know personally that children can be taught to hate. I have seen it in my own family.

The leaders were once children. But it really makes no difference because Paul will never get a chance to try his theory of just let them do what they want. The "children" do not matter here. The leaders do because they set policy. There are a lot of jurisdictions where the people disagree with the leaders.

I very well may have been indoctrinated, and maybe you have too. It does not take the whole country to hate. It just takes the ones in power to hate. And I may never realize I am wrong. Because if I have to trust them for my safety it will never happen. So you think every single person was indoctrinated to be against the United States? So much so that the leaders are willing to destroy their own countries and their own positions to do so? That simply goes against the public demands that these leaders put out (notice how the actual demands AND reasons in communication with the US govt is always political and never religious). Religion is merely a recruiting tool. Your belief also does not explain how there are notable disconnects between people within the countries and the leaders themselves (if everyone was indoctrinated to be against America surely they'd all be fine with 20% unemployment or whatever for that primary goal- but they are NOT).
And Paul does not have to go test his theory to have an impact. What this whole paranoia business and this whole we can never be wrong business does is cost citizens billions of dollars, costs many citizens their lives even, and in some instances makes us even weaker and our enemies even greater in number. You've tried it for a few decades. How long until you realize you might be wrong?
And last but not least if indoctrination is so prevalent over there, who is to say that you have also not been indoctrinated in supporting an aggressive army that fuels the military industrial complex special interests?
It all comes down to the same reason I lock my doors. Will everyone steal from me or harm my family? No. But as long as any of them will I will be locking my door. I am just not built to have all these lofty la de da beliefs. And as long as I am not in my naive mode (not there much) I hope Paul is not the winner. By the way, in a bar I always sit with my back to a wall. I have been cut, but never stabbed in the back.![]()
