Let me just get this straight. I don't like abortion.

Therefore I look for reasons to avoid it. Since you think I talk out of both sides of my mouth I should tell you what I think you do.

I think you are selfish, don't really have a lot of respect for women, and don't want to take responsibility for anything.

How is that for straight talk?

See I can only control what I do. I don't control what women or anyone else does. That is why I have always tried to avoid having any child aborted. And thankfully I have never had to face having one of mine aborted. I just don't think your put the blame on the women while I do as I please will save many babies. If you hate abortion so much grow up and do all you can to prevent the need.

I am tired of this childish conversion. It is plain to see that you just don't care enough to man up and stop playing the blame her game.

And since you see a baby as punishment, it is best you don't ever have any. They are a blessing.

Actually with exception of the morning after pill, all contraception is taken beforehand.

There are ofcourse other reasons for abortions that have been skimmed over in this thread.
One might be the long term health of the baby.

In Netherlands babies born naturally before 25 weeks are not given intensive care. This is because the chances of them surviving without some form of mental or physical problem is extremely high.
It could be that if parents are told their unborn baby is going to face a lifetime of severe problems then they elect to have the offered abortion. Remember please what we have mentioned about the mental aspect of this on the mother as well as the father.
Abortion is never a simple act for anyone concerned.

That I understand completely, if the baby is rejected by the body naturally, there is typically a good reason.

True a visectomy is minor, and I would perfer to do that then have my spouse feel oblogated to have her tubes tied. Mainly because it isn't as detramental to my helth and also it is reversable.

I don't like when people say that men have absolute control over their reproductive systems because it is untrue. Most of what consists of human reproduction envolves the female. And the female contains our reproduction (our meaning human, not just men). Being that that is the case both potintial parents should have a say so, in the case of a guy that splits after the act, he has forfitted his say so.

Until man kind can reproduce asexually we have minamal control over it, that is both sexes. I think it is a good thing in most cases

I have always been pro life. But having raised two daughters I ran into a couple of selfish turds along the way. I was even "friends" with a few in my younger days. But it got to bother me when they just blew off girls they got pregnant.

Strange I am pro life (there are exceptions) when it comes to babies. I am for the death penalty in most cases. And I believe with all my heart in "right to die". As a matter of fact I hope to maintain that control until the time comes for me to check out. I have a living will, but if at all possible I will take care of that for myself.

It depends on your definition of murder. I attached a broad meaning. Once the baby is born or it is killed minutes before birth there is no justification short of its being proven spawn of the Devil for destroying its life.


I agree we need more loving fathers or other people to support new mothers so they don't feel abortion is their only viable choice.

Its also true a baby born to a mother with a bias toward abortion might not have a good childhood. That is another issue. I read that Ben Franklin had a bad childhood.

She has all the right to decide what happens to her body, but when she is shareing it with another potential person, that fetus needs to be recognized as not nessasarily a person but more than a desiesed kidney, or a tumor. A man dosent carry a baby in his body, but that otherwise healthy fetus is as much part of him as it is her.

I am not sure if that counts as an argument against late term abortions. In fact I read recently that it was in the 70's case of Roe vs Wade that the US Supreme Court (not doctors) who came up with the notion of trimesters. So it wasn't even medical science or doctors that made the three stage distinction.

I agree with you that the longer a pregnancy goes, the better the chances of the baby surviving. But we are talking about terminating the life of the child whilst it is in the womb. The question isn't "if we remove the child from the womb right now, will it survive?". I can't see that as a relevant consideration.

True. I was answering the question of what makes a difference time wise and I believe that people consider it more 'acceptable' to abort an unformed fetus rather than a fully formed baby which has a chance of survival.
