Your right, I agree. Like tipping upside down a garbage can. Wash it out and start all over again. But with who?

I am not sure. There should be some good honest people that are unemployed. Someone that does not owe favors to a bunch of lairs and crooks.

Wow, that feels quite far away! Is it because you do not like the current Government that you are wishing for the election? I hope the Conservatives can get themselves together, as right now it does not look as though they have any leadership. I also don't really know what their policies are either. Maybe a precedent has been set, and a President gets to serve 8 years, 4 years more or less surviving and the next 4 years people hate him. Perhaps obama will get re-elected on that basis

If Obama gets re-elected it will be because too many people here can't see through his tricks.

Or his opponent will be worse. :(

We need the Libertarian and Socialist Parties to make a good showing at some point, the longer the Dem/Repub monopoly on power remains, the faster this country will fall apart. This keeps up much longer and states will start leaving, 2 have already seriously tried.

I think it is too late to save it anyway. As for me, I want nothing to do with the Socialist party. And know very little about Libertarians. I know we have some crazy right wingers in the republican party. And two thirds of the democratic party are so liberal they are just scary.

See I think I know part of the problem. Back in the 60s parents wanted you to stay in school or get a job. If you wanted the parents to pay your bills you had to stay in school. So since the hippies did not want to work they became educated. For several years those old left wing hippies have been teaching the liberal line to our children. Now some of our children have been so "brain-washed" they can't even think any other way.:(

COMRADE DAVID IS BAAAACK!

Very true. Soon, people will see through the thin veneer of the so-called democracy in the American system. Then demand real democracy.

The Socialist Party is mainly a bunch of Trotskyites. No offence but.

And the Libertarian Party is a bunch of neoliberal gobs***es.

On the other hand, the Dems and Reps are basically two factions of the same party. The Business Party. The Capitalist Party.

My internet went on strike. Back now.

People are demanding democracy, the problem is anytime a politician says, "Spread democracy? When will we have it?!", they get labeled as traitors, anti-patriotic and non-American.

That's the Republicans mostly. The Repubs hate freedom. The Dems hate the majority. They both love money, power and lording it over the little guy.

The Repubs are filled with uneducated hicks and the Dems with Nazis. The whole system is a sham.

Did i mention i love you?

But seriously, when the realistic choice is between two monster-parties, made up of Capitalist and Statist extremists of various descriptions, you realise you have to go back to the metaphorical drawing board. Unless, of course, the facade of democracy (as opposed to the reality) is somehow fiscally advantageous to the individual.

By the by, has anyone heard Leonard Cohen's poem "Democracy"?

:D

On that last part, I always have a good chuckle when the Repubs claim the Dems are Leftists. To the man, every open and unapologetic Nazi in Gov't in America (and they are great in number but never overwhelmingly in High Office) is a Dem. Seriously, just look at the party platforms and ignore the talking points. Dems are feudalist fascists and the Repubs are moderate socialists. Seems there was a mix-up sometime between the War of Southern Secession and World War 2 (and why do we call it 2, it was more like 8 :p).

When I logged in and saw 2012, my mind went to another kind of significance of the "final hour" type. Maybe none of this is going to matter after all ..... just imagine the initial disappointment or elation of the party who wins or looses, and then all of a sudden everything comes to an end .... Maybe this would be a good opportunity for getting back to the drawing board with no drawing board .... :D

The US is a one-party state.

The Democrats and Republicans are merely different factions of the same party. It's never anyone different. Republican. Democrat. Republican. Democrat. Republicrat. Republicrat. Republicrat.

I think there used to be a difference. The Republicans used to be anti-war, the Democrats used to be ardent racists. But not now.

Now, there's only a difference in rhetoric. The Republicans have fully abandoned their old platform. They argue for a "small state" and spend five hundred billion dollars on military expenditure. Nobody would have expected a black Democratic president when they enacted the Jim Crow laws. Some people seem to be under the illusion that the Democrats are now the pacifists. But the 2009 military base budget rose to $515.4 billion. There are radicals in both parties. Do they have a solitary chance of getting into power? No.

If the crowd in power now keep doing what they are trying to do the Republicans will be in power quicker than you think. The older people vote and this crowd is messing with Medicare and Social Security. That scares a lot of older people and makes them mad.:D
