Birth control is one of the hottest topics worldwide since the Church already condemned it and tells supporters not to support it. But sometime, unexpected pregnancy can also leads to abortion on unexpected mothers.

So what's your own view about this topic?

No. Just no. I'm 100% opposed to it. No. No. No.

I think I made my position clear. :giggle:

I think that it should be the choice of the potential mother.

I think it is perfectly all right, what if the mother was raped or the contraception broke, the mother should have the right to get rid of the baby. What is the point of bringing up an unwanted baby, that is not fair on the child at all. Also I am not hundred per cent sure on this but i think that the umbilical cord goes towards stem cell research.

I personally extremely against it. But it was completely different from my part of the world to the western world because in our religion sex is after marriage and having baby is the gift from God as far as others parts of the world as you all know that marriage is not necessary so in case of ACCIDENT I think it would be fair!

I am not in favor of abortion. The couple should plan accordingly and they should guard against the possibility of pregnancy in order to avoid abortion.

Abortion is legal only when it meets certain criteria alone. Others are illegal abortion. If you google it you can find how many criminal abortions are going in the society can be ruled out. When it comes to mother and child, growing with blood and flesh with love and caring too, abortions are such a crime to conduct. And I would support to give the mother and the doctor doing abortion to severe punishment. But we cannot think that alone in a society. If we keep on allowing the children with the genetic defect the future would be the destructive one and it would lead to extinction of human organism in the Earth. It is true. For example, now a days the incidence and people suffering from diabetes and cancer are increasing. These diseases are not due to infectious organisms. Genetic transferring of these diseases are now evident. If we keep on allowing the child to born with Down syndrome and other genetic disabilities think about the future generation. Likewise some women are not viable to carry a child. If they accidentally got pregnant abortion is the solution for them. Some do abortions due to contraceptive method failures. We cannot blame those. There are many laws in every country to prevent the criminal (illegal)abortions. But sad one is the illegal abortion is more now a days.

I haven't stated my view on this matter on my post above. I'm pretty much against it.
Abortion is similar to killing your own flesh and blood, and killing a defenseless being.

And irahat is true. There are countries which have legal criterias in aborting an unwanted child.
BTW, irahat, can tell us some countries that have that law?

GekiDan in older days we have no such advent of techniques and many individual care taking homes for such kind of people. During that period the child with deformities are ill-treated. And pathetic there are no good laws too to save them and to help them. But now the situation is different. If those disabled people is mal-treated anyone with humanity can report it to law and make the trouble maker to enjoy the punishment and the laws are now being present. Only the deformed people not known to the external world would be still suffering. Coming to illegal method of abortion there are still in developing and in developed countries it is practiced if there is no knowledge about the complications after abortion in septic surrounding. In my country the situation is slightly changing due to the measures by Government and the health measures are reaching the poor too. And I have no knowledge about the christains doing strikes in front of the places of abortions. Such incidents never happened in our place.

So far, abortion is not legal here in the Philippines. And people who do abortion is punishable by law. I can see it regularly in the news. There are also times that the one who have their child aborted dies... :(

The question of abortion comes very late after the performance of the act. Hence it is a sentimental and an emotional issue.

I have never been in the favor of abortion. If you don't want to have a child use birth control. If you can't afford the child then it is best to give it up for adoption, but there is no point in killing a child that is about to be born.

Yes! I agree with your simple comment that use safety measures if you didn't want child. I think after 4 months of conceiving the life has been given to the child! Is that true?

Contraception is a wonderful thing, but don't presume that it operates at 100% efficiency. For example, a condom may split. What's more, keep in mind that the social conditions of peoples' lives change all the time.

What you are trying to say here that sex is due to the social conditions of people's?

Well, of course.

But my point was more that changing social conditions affect the practicality of raising a child after it has been conceived.

I am not for or against Abortion. I support a woman's right to choose the option that is best for her. Whether she decides to keep it or not, the choice is still hers to make and she should not be forced into anything, be it keeping or aborting the baby.

I think it is up to the woman on whether or not they want to abort the baby. This topic can go into the whole soul searching and when does the egg and sperm become a human being. In my opinion, if I am going to have sexual relations with a woman, then I want her to be on the pill and if she chooses not to then we will be using a condom no questions asked. I don't want a kid and it is a heavy burden to be younger and have to provide for a child. Birth control isn't a bad thing and if it is something women want, then it is something they deserve to have.

When a child is conceived a new human life comes into existence. That is a matter of medical/scientific certainty.

How should society and the law treat that life?

Lots of opinions on that.

I'd be happy if people simply recognized the truth of the first comment.
