It seems things are getting pretty bad, Egypt pulling out, Rockets and warplanes....are we watching the beginning of a war?

Is Israel choosing this time for another beat-down of the Palestinians because Syria (and so Hezbollah) are bogged down in a civil conflict?

Unfortunately, civilian deaths are inevitable in that kind operations. Turkey also was targeted Iraqi civilians a few times. The Palestinians method is wrong, all armed groups should be united under a central management and stop all kind of terror in Palestinan land or beyond it's border.

And similarconflicts happened many times, I don't think it will turn into a war.

Possible...it may also be a way of messaging Iran. Much to speculate about, little to base opinion on.

Not looking good at this point. Hopefully things calm down before the regional players get involved.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip -- Palestinian militants barraged Israel with more than 200 rockets on Thursday, killing three people as Israel pressed a punishing campaign of airstrikes on militant targets across the Gaza Strip. Three rockets targeted the densely populated Tel Aviv area, setting off air raid sirens in brazen attacks that threatened to trigger an Israeli ground invasion of Gaza.
Late in the day, Israel signaled a ground operation may be imminent as forces moved toward the border area with Gaza. At least 12 trucks were seen transporting tanks and armored personnel carriers, and a number of buses carrying soldiers arrived. Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said he had authorized the army to call-up additional reservists for possible action. The army said it was prepared to draft up to 30,000 additional troops.
"I ordered the military today to widen the draft of reserve soldiers in order to be able to be ready for any development," Barak said. Military officials said the moves were to prepare for the possibility of a ground invasion, but stressed no decision had been made. Israel TV stations, however, said a ground offensive was expected Friday."

I was playing when they said it had started a war between israel and egypt was surprised. I was glad it was nothing against Egypt.

Unfortunately the UN along with allied countries did the shit and arrived at a point that has no way to resolve, even with only deaths and wasted lives that there maybe a way.

Upcoming election dates in Israel make more sense. They did similar things before the last election too.

The deployment of the Iron Dome defence system, which intercepted more than 270 missiles from Gaza so far, demoralised Hamas and Hamas leaders are now talking publicly about a cease-fire and the current conflict could end sooner than expected despite Netanyahu's tough talk and a ground war could be avoided as the initial goal of stopping Hamas from firing rockets from Gaza has been met.

I doubt the Palestinians are demoralized. They've always fought against a massively stronger foe. They just have to adjust their tactics. Like, launching a lot of super-cheap missiles or shells without payloads to waste the expensive Iron Dome missiles. And, then launching the real missiles. Besides, their tiny, inaccurate missiles have never been much of a threat to Israel.

If the Iron dome is so effective, then why Israel's march to a ground invasion?

(U.S. Congressional Research Service says Israel's interceptor missiles cost $90,000 each. Hamas should be tickled pink, as that's way above the average damage a non-intercepted rocket causes.)

You're assuming Hamas has access to this info.

They do....welcome to a real time world.

Hamas seems to be plying a game, harsh though it is:

They know they will be defeated militarily, play the civilian game to stop damage...then get a handed ass when it fails.

Seriously, know when you are outmatched.

The nazis murdered a Resistance leader, there was an attempt at fighting back, and now the nazis are trying to start their Final Solution. How can Americans go on paying for this racist filth?

The Final Solution is what Israel is working on to get rid of the Palestinians. You don't think occupation is the end goal, do you?

I'm no fan of Israel but you're over blowing the situation. Apartheid, yes. Genocide, no.
