As expected, entitlements are the problem.
I think it is notable that when we want to win a war, as in the case of WWII, we devoted most of the countries productivity toward that goal. And we won! Now, we don't have real wars and we don't get behind them because they are amorphous actions with no clear objectives and they take up much less of the nations productive effort. There is much to cut in the military spending, for sure.
I'd love to see across the board cuts, personally, as well as a phasing out of the entitlement programs that are dragging us down. I see lots of places to cut spending under infrastructure, as well.
