I am shocked that an ultra-lib like Obama actually signed this.

I am trying to figure out who the hell even wants to eat horse meat. I sure don't.

I remember 50 years ago the Russians really liked eating horse. My guess is an American eating horse would be for the shock value or just to impress someone.

"It?s basic economics,? said David Duquette, president of United Horsemen, which advocated for lifting the ban. ?Horses used to be a $102 billion a year industry, with at least 500,000 direct jobs in horse industry. That?s been cut in half.?

Did they like it? Or did they just have no choice?
They seemed to like it. I always felt like they enjoyed rubbing it in our face. Even some Derby horses have been sent to slaughter in the past. Here in horse country it is right up there with eating dogs and cats.

I live within 30 miles of the Kentucky Derby.

See that is the difference between someone who cares about horses and an ass-hat that owns horses. No respect for the animal, its just about lining his pockets. I would be surprised if he even knows what those horses look like or the way they are treated before they are killed.
They are not treated well on the trip.
