Yes, but your means will never limit the problem. If we're just gonna let them continue on on their evil spree it will be a never ending bad circle.
Who said anything about letting them continue?

So how do you want to stop them?
Promote acceptance, tolerance, diversity.
I'd also be prepared to fight them, as in Cable Street, if the absolute need arose. I'm pacifistic, but not a pacifist.
And how can you be sure that even though you're promoting acceptance and tolerance that people who are so deep into their ideology will listen? It's a tough and almost impossible task you want to solve.
I prefer to persuade, not force people to my ideals.
(Though i'm not very good at representation, so my ideals are usually trapped up here *taps skull*)
If persuasion worked, I'd also prefer that solution. But we've seen that doesn't work and even in Western society where we try to be open and friendly with these extremists, the result is this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/3752517.stm
Want to persuade him and his kind, good luck.
You cannot persuade militant Islamists whose ideologies are not only the polar opposite of yours, but militant Islamists who fervently believe that their beliefs are superior and dominant to every other religion, ideology and view in every society. One mistakes the West has made is extending it's "democratic rights" to people like that; forget about that, hard justice is what we need.

The best way to defeat a radical Muslim is with the Q'uran. All Muslims believe that it is the literal word of God. Show them a part that tells of peace and they won't be able to deny it. They'll comeback with something else that tells of violence but context (being defensive for example) defeats that.

The problem is that so many verses in that book is pure evil
The problem is that so many verses in that book is pure evil, and they'll use just as fast against you as you used the peaceful talk against them. And then you're back where you started.
They're called Salafists or Wahabbists. They're nutcases. But there are nutcases in most major religions. In fact, i need only say the name "Fred Phelps" - whom i personally desire to stab in the face - and the point is proven.
I wouldn't know, i haven't gotten around to reading it just yet. Have you? If you have, i'm surprised, since you clearly haven't gotten around to reading the bible, have you?
EDIT: + "evil" is a highly subjective term.
I live with an Iraqi Sunni Muslim guy. He knows about these things. Not ALL of them are Salafis or Wahhabis. Extremism comes in all flavours, and all sects, in Islam and all other ideologies. Hamas is different, and opposed to the ideologies of Al Qaeda, whom are a strange blend of Qutbist, khalifist and Salafi ideologies.
Yes, I have read the entire Quran. My friend also showed his copy of the Quran in Arabic; I compared the two with an Arabic to English translation book, and my translation is actually quite accurate.
Yes, I have read the bible, and yes, it's a bloodbath as well. The Quran commands people to go and kill others, while the bible just has long, sadistic stories about god killing waves of people in natural disasters or proxy assassinations. Both books are violent.
Yeah, evil is a subjective term, but you tend to ignore that kind of stuff when some psychos want to blow you up or decimate you for the mere attributes of your existence.
You say it's evil, I say you misunderstand.
How? Even my friend and his family, who lives in this country now, think what the jihadists do over there is evil. They hate it, that's why they came here.
Do you mind actually explaining why I misunderstand? I'm sure it wouldn't have been too much of a hassle in your original post.
Oh, I'm not saying the terrorists are good, I'm just saying the Q'uran isn't evil and if you think it is, it's only because you misunderstand. Take all the violent parts in context and suddenly you're looking at defense, punishment, ect, not "Kill all the non-Muslims!"
Oh, I see, the BIBLE is a bad, evil book, but the HOLY QURAN is a great book to be taken in context? Is that what you're saying?
Both books are bad.
