If we don't have the stomach to win a war we should never pretend to fight one. We need to play by the same rules they play by. This going to war and trying not to hurt anyone is silly. We are seen as bullies by most of the world if we sit home and sing songs. Does the rest of world give a damn what we think of them?
In my opinion my way would be much cheaper. My way we are done and gone. Why stay another 60 years. What does that cost? As far as the people, if they are too weak to stand up to that little troll I have no sympathy. As a matter of fact my sympathy ran out a while ago. As for policing the world, hell no. I want us out of anything I can't drive my truck to. But after 60 years it would be a shame to let the little troll defeat us. But why not. Heck if you don't care, why should I?
- it is not done and gone because people remember things (what do you think fueled Osama, the Taliban, and Al qeuda?) and there are always people who will conflict with us in the world- it isn't possible to chase everyone down. It's been tried too many times in history from the Greeks to the Romans to England to now in some sense America. It doesn't work and the cost is always higher, not lower than peaceful solutions.

And specifically to N. Korea, the cost of going in (especially now) is much higher than not. No one cares if we still have a decades old feud with them- it doesn't make us appear weak because most countries have similar feuds of their own- it is the great power struggle in international politics.
As I said, I want them all within driving distance. But if we are going to send them to war we should let them win and leave. Not hang around for 50 or 60 years just watching each other. And I don't care what others think. As for the flag, remember I took mine down a while back. First time in about 20 years my flag is down. I even unhooked the big spotlight that burned at night. It will stay down until I find something hopeful enough to put it back. It will probably be sold when I die, because I see no light at the end of this tunnel.First off, I care about people more than the flags- we are all the same and no one was created with a flag and national anthem attached to them. It is only the minority, usually the upper class rich and those in power, who use these things to manipulate others and get them to agree to ridiculous wars and feuds. Second, the cost is not only to the enemy. Who goes and fights there? Our young men. Who deals with them when they come back to retaliate in xx years? Our children. Who pays for the costs of military operation? Our taxpayers.
Just get along and improve our national defense so if some lunatics decide to attack us we will stop them anyway without the costs of aggressive war. Who the hell cares what others think anyway? Are we a nation of 6 year olds? Well maybe DC is...
