Predictions for 2012

With the year coming to an end, would anyone care to make some predictions for 2012, especially politically? Doesn't have to be political though.

A few from me:

I think the general election will be very close and almost unpredictable really.
I expect for the Eurozone problems to continue and this to be the year when major structural reforms are really looked at.
The Mayans will be wrong.

I will need to ponder this for a bit. But I already predict things will get worse before they improve. All this right left BS is sinking this country in a big way. And too many have decided to go down with the ship to get their way.

Unless the majority of this country has gone insane, the election is the republicans' to lose. But with the lib media more solidly a propaganda arm of the DNC than ever before, the republicans have to unite behind the winner, because ANYBODY, even pick an average man on the street, would be better than four more hellish years of obama. I've now come to the grim conclusion that even if it's Romney, I will hold my nose and support him.

The right left BS is a sideshow. It doesn't matter as much as those involved might lead one to believe. I think the bigger issues at hand are in terms of incentives. Incentives for politicians to do things and incentives for markets to innovate and grow.

I am just judging by the way the left right crowd have wasted the last couple of years. And I believe they are ready to wast 2012 too. This country needs a laxative. It is for sure cog-locked.

I would liked to see all of them put politics aside and do the job they are paid to do. This country can't afford them to just turn a tin ear and wear their blinders anymore. I noticed that they all became richer while the country was on the downhill slide into the crapper.

What is the job you want them to do though? That is very subjective. The argument can even be made that them in deadlock is better than them trying to fix things they have no clue about.

As for politics, it was always a part of the game, it is just in everyone's homes now thanks to mass media.

Oh do things like have real budgets, not two month extensions of things that are not working. Spend at least as much time working at their job as they do their damn talking points.

If we really can't expect anything from them, why are they there?

"The argument can even be made that them in deadlock is better", I made that argument when we were getting "health care" rammed down our throat. I really want them to shit or get off the pot! If they don't ever intend to do anything say so, and go home.

If a bad bill is being debated and no viable alternative exists then holding up debate until it dies, while annoying, is the only option. That said, holding up all debate, even on bills you're on record as supporting (or at least the ideas behind them) is a dereliction of duty, unpatriotic and even treasonous.

Maybe we just expect too much from them. Guess they get $174000 just to keep the seats warm.

I will take those odds.

He will never do either, but I believe Obama doing the following two things would dramatically increase his odds for victory.

1) Approve the pipeline.

2) Get rid of Mr. Biden and bring on Mrs. Clinton.

Neither will occur, but doing those two items would lock up 2012 and not even make it close.

But redirect it to the Rust Belt, more secure, cheaper (less to build), protects the environment (no going thru conservation lands as it does now) and it'll revitalize the area's economy. As an added bonus it'll be operational in about an 1/8 of the time.
