In a speech at West Point earlier today, President Obama stressed that more countries need to work together in order to defeat security threats and that the United States can not be the sole one acting. The speech gives some foreshadowing to what could be in Obama's National Security Strategy, which is due to be released next week. The stress on international help is in stark contrast to Bush's more "lone soldier" approach which had the US taking more of the burden.

Good call. Whether you're liberal or conservative, I do really like how he's been putting a strong, honest effort into improving diplomatic relations. Also, security won't work if it's just the United States. Everyone has to get involved.

I believe the the rest of the world should help in world matters such as human rights or helping in the wake of a crisis etc. Trying to prevent terrorism could be considered such a matter as well (not to say that all the places we are in right now are justified under that though.)
