Same Sex couples adopting?!

"The same report estimates more than 14,100 foster children were living with one or more gay or lesbian foster parent. Though denied the right to marry in every state except Massachusetts, more and more same-sex couples are turning to adoption and foster care to form families, according to child adoption groups who study the issue. Rob Calhoun and his partner, Clay Calhoun, of Avondale Estates, Georgia, have two adopted children -- 4-year-old daughter Rainey and son, Jimmy, who is 18 months old. The children share the same biological mother.
"We're not moms, we're not heterosexual. We're not biological parents," Rob Calhoun said. But "we're totally equal and just as loving as female parents, as straight parents, and biological parents.""

From reading this, the only opinion I could conjure up was how insanely vile/disgusting this is.

What do the rest of you think?

Schmidt, cut out the trolling, that kind of nonsense is not allowed here.

rice_farmer, how is this disgusting? Two loving people raise a family, often with children that didn't have proper homes to begin with. Being a same-sex couple does not make them bad parents- in fact, there are many "normal" couples who are much worse parents than same-sex couples.

Quite frankly I don't see anything wrong with it... call it Canadian tolerance if you must. Rather that than living in places like South Africa where homophobia is a big a problem as the HIV infection rate.

Two politically incorrect people take it upon themselves to soil a perfectly innocent child with no say yet in the world. Why a child must be taught of this world in an uncommon fashion, definitely creating future problems that yet remain unknown by the average guy. Being passive and letting this obscenity progress should be looked down upon in today's society, sometimes I think and conjure up what exactly this country is coming to if step by step we are losing what was originally intended for this country and what us nationalist stood for.

An uncommon fashion? Everyone is different and every child has a unique upbringing. Is uncommon something to be inherently scared of? 100s of years ago, raising a kid who had electricity, got toys, etc. was uncommon.

And what evidence do you have of the "future problems"? Or are you just talking out of your own misunderstanding and possibly hatred?
