Bush got us bogged down in the Mideast, started a pointless war in Iraq, let OBL escape, opened concentration camps, pushed the PATRIOT Act, deregulated the banks, ruined our international reputation and generally lowered the collective IQ of the US. Obama on the other hand is basically Reagan with a (D) next to his name though the Repubs try to ignore that little fact.
And O'bama still does not realize that he is not running against Bush. He needs to do something besides hide behind Bush at some point. He can never run against Bush so he can never defeat Bush. He needs to forget whining about Bush and take his own responsibility.

Petraeus and sent reenforcements and because the Bath'hist Resistance decided al Qaeda was worse then we were and switched sides. Prior to the surge/Bath'hist defections Iraq was Vietnam 2.0.

Reagan raised taxes. Reagan got into Mideast wars. Reagan brought America to the brink of bankruptcy. Reagan 'won' the Cold War despite not actually doing anything (same as killing OBL doesn't really have anything to do with Obama beyond giving the okay). Reagan left office with a lot of disappointed people. Reagan was turned into a myth by his few remaining supporters thus saving his image. Obama is all of that aside from the last 2 but I suspect the Dems will do that 2 once he's out.

A Perry nomination would be a GOP gift to the leftwing. Although not as much of a RINO as McCain, he's wrong on one of the major issues of the day - the illegal alien invasion. Conservatives, presented with an obama-Perry choice, would stay home on election day, and it would be four more years of what we've experienced for the last three, only worse - probably MUCH worse.
Because he wants troops on the border instead of a worthless and expensive fence and wants the children of illegals (who are Americans in most cases) to get an education so they don't end up on welfare and instead contribute to society? Oh the horror!
