The productivity from jobs below the marginal gain in productivity that is equal to or less than the requested wage will simply be lost and no one will be hired, American or not, at that high of a wage. Um, I never said no one would be hired, but that less would be hired. What I did say is that no one will be hired in addition when that additional wage is higher than the marginal gain.

The illegal immigrants arguably provide a net benefit even given the entitlements they use and almost unarguably cost a little at worst. That has been established, but to you everything is a conspiracy including somehow the entire UC system. Can't help you there.
Even with a minor loss, it is undeniable the actual work provides a benefit, so if you have a problem with entitlements reform that. There is no greater proof that illegal aliens, and even 'legal' aliens are a drain on a nation's treasury than Canada. We should, by all rights, be by far the wealthiest nation on earth. Alas, we have social programs for immigrants who should not be allowed into the country in the first place. These are people who do not pay taxes, thus placing crushing responsibilities onto the shoulders of taxpaying Canadians. It is one reason why our taxes are amongst the highest on earth. Get rid of these immigrants, and watch our economy take off. Our economy is one of the best in the world IN SPITE of the immigrants, not thanks to them. Keep these facts in mind, my children.
Imo, it's an issue of WHAT immigrants. The US university system attracts foreigners, mostly asians, who work on PhDs, mostly in engineering, science, and math. After they get their degrees, 2/3 stay here. That's what a country needs to advance, not mexican peons who can't write their own name.
