you are correct, all religions are guilty of this behavior. it seems odd to me that most preach love but some in each do not practice it, but they are considered the most devout, kind of strange. why are the clowns with the signs saying God hates gays thought of the most devout Christians.
Islamism is ideologically opposed to fascism. Islamism calls for Islamic theocracy, not utter loyalty to the state or else.
Iran's gov't doesn't control the corporations, have mandatory military service for all citizens, demand absolute loyalty to the state and offer 100% employment with gov't jobs. Iran is a theocracy with a liberal, Western population and a deeply religious, conservative ruling class.

And we did the same thing not too long ago (though we didn't actually shoot to kill), what's your point? They were putting down an uprising aimed at overthrowing the gov't, not a peaceful protest. A gov't not letting itself die isn't fascism.
The iron curtain countries were enslaved by Russia, another totalitarian state like Iran. Communism and Islamism are both totalitarian.
Warsaw Pact nations were totalitarian, Iran is authoritarian, none were/are fascist.
