President Obama is pushing the health care legislation currently pending in Congress once again. He has also asked Republicans, who are asking to start over, to bring their own proposals at a February 25th conference which the President is hoping can be televised.
Bob Blendon, a health policy and political analyst at Harvard University, was quoted as saying "The president is trying to turn around the sour mood on this issue and mitigate the criticism that he's ramming this bill down people's throats."
Republicans are still reluctant with such a conference, with most of them wanting to start from a clean slate. Several proposals have arisen within the party as well, many which can be found here: http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE61757T20100208
