In a recent poll by Rasmussen, 53% of Americans polled say they trust Republicans more with health care than Democrats. The number falls about in line with their poll that shows 54% of Americans want the mandate bill repealed.

With this poll, of the ten key issues that Rasmussen polls, the GOP now leads in nine of them. Democrats only lead by a narrow margin in government ethics.

The Harris Polls on the healthcare reforms were far more interesting. In my arrogant opinion.

What did they show?

It was just as the healthcare bill was passed. 45% of people were opposed to the healthcare reforms - the largest in recorded history with the Harris poll. More than those supporting them.

However, all of the main proposals except one was approved of by the majority of Americans. In several cases, a very large majority.

I couldn't find a 2010 Harris poll on the Health Care Reform but did find one of December with your stats, are you sure the poll was taken just after the healthcare bill was passed?

Just before, actually. My mistake. February of this year, more recent than yours. :)

Thanks for the info Dirk. I found this paragraph particularly relevant:
Overall, however, there does seem to be a great deal of confusion and misinformation about what is, and what is not, being proposed. The extraordinary complexity of our health care system, and the complexity of the proposals to reform it, make it very difficult for most people to understand.
Makes it that more perplexing that this Bill got to be voted in. But then MYP pointed out somewhere else, Congress does not have to worry about it, as the Bill will not be applicable to members of Congress.
