I took that into consideration and I looked for a longer video, but couldn't find it. Either way though, I don't really see a context in which to say its really good. Even if he was saying it was less than days in the recent past, there is no need to say "really good" because it isn't really good, 36000 people and their families have just been handed an uncertain future.Could the video have been pulled out of a total context, as it sounds like a perfectly horrible thing to say for Read, especially considering that he has just been forgiven by Obama for racist remarks?
Right. Looks as though he has really put his foot into it again.I took that into consideration and I looked for a longer video, but couldn't find it. If you look at the letter of the word you are correct of course. If it had been racist, it may have been more difficult for Obama to have forgiven him.It wasn't racist. Politicly incorrect but not racist.

I think you need to explain this to me. First you say it is not racist, then you say it is pointing out racism? :unsure:It was more pointing out racism.

OK, I checked up on what he said, and would like to change my point of view. What he said was definitely racist:He was saying America was racist.

Well, maybe it is like with the Queen, it is simply a "no no" for her to say things in jest like that even as a jest with friends. When one gets elevated to higher public positions, then probably you need to be careful what you say, especially if you have made a blunder before.Agree with David, really. It's similar to a conversation I had with a friend the other day. He made a post-racist remark about a Jewish friend he once had. It wasn't racist, it was poking fun at stereotypes. More making fun of racism than utilising it. Also, he's a massive lefty and simply wouldn't mean anything like that.

I'm sure they won't get excited. They would probably rather change the nameYes. I'm a republican (note the small r, before conservatives get excited).

So what does republican with a small "r" mean then?
