I an absolutely for more careful policies regarding who is capable of owning a gun.

I am against outlawing certain guns that have 30 round magazines because it would only mean outlaws can have them.

I don't mind them making it a little harder to get access to them if you have a criminal background or a history of mental illness.

At the same time, it's not going to fix things like the Sandy incident. He didn't own those guns. Someone else did who was perfectly fine to own them for all intents and purposes. It really wouldn't have changed anything there and I think the focus should really be elsewhere.

And therein lies the root...no legicslation can pevent this problem, as is societal.

However, we can lessen the ability of the society to enact these things.

I'd rather let Obama touch me, than my damn guns. Screw this gun ban BS. Better watch themselves, or the Government will have a revolt to try and suppress. I dont care if I have to get guns off the black market, I will have me a Bushmaster MOE when I turn 18. and if doing so makes me a "terrorist", then they can go suck a fat one, and come take it from me (or try).

No one wants to seize your guns. Let's put them away now :p

I personally only care about Conservatism, and Constitutionalism. Its what I try and stride for, and I cant not "pick" sides... I have to align myself with one or the other for other reasons.

Oh brother... it is ironic how close the tactics of ideologues on one side are to that on the other, despite your continual irrational hatred of the other side.

You don't have to align yourself anywhere. This is not a football game.

Well, it is a game for me... politics is a game in the long run, and I am running for it, and I am starting to campaign in 2 months. We are so polarized, its impossible not to anymore. *shrugs*

It is clearly not impossible when there are plenty of us who do not pick a side arbitrarily like that. You just make yourself look foolish in picking a side and fighting for it like it is a sports team because this isn't sports- it is much more important and also much more scientific. These matters are often complex and chances are on most issues there will be support and dissent from both "sides".

There are aspects of each party I find unfortunate, if not detrimental to the future of my country...yet that is what I have.

I will admit to a lean away from what the GOP has represented in the last decade, but feel the Democrats are little better on anythung but social issues.

Having been in the Reagan Camp, and the first Bush....It has been a bit painful to watch this transformation, kinda like a love lost.

At this point, though I may not care much for the current administration, I must accept it in the face of the alternative.

No, you see, I literally HAVE to "pick a side" in order to run lol.

Run for office? Being registered does not mean you have to run on party lines all the time. That is what leads to stupid partisanship like we see today. I've been registered a Republican and an Independent in my lifetime and have voted for Democrats, Independents, and Republicans. It is about the issues and the people, not the parties or leftie/righty nonesense.

So, please do explain to me how I am supposed to gain funding? Support from already known figures? ... have a platform that is backed by a sized group of people? You cannot. trust me. Besides, I like the Tea Party.
