A dictatorship of the people is always a dictatorship. What have you been smoking? I shall want to avoid it.
Me? Personally? No. Everyone who knows me likes me. Those who work for me most of all.
But the nation has many enemies. Those who love freedom and liberty have many enemies. Most of them look and sound like you.
A mistake whenever it is tried with more than about a dozen people. Why do you ask?
All modern instances of dictatorships of the proles, or people as you put it, have been dictatorships of the very few.
I'm no fan of democracy ether, I'm just pointing out it's different then a dictatorship (rule by a despot)
Actually we are not that far apart on this point. Democracies tend to be despotic even without a sole despot. This was a concern that the founders discussed in the debates on the Constitution.
To be honest, I'm not much of a fan of democratic republicanism ether. Democracy, even with checks on the mob's power, seems to be self-destructive. Straight republicanism makes far more sense, just give it a constitution (that can't be amended, otherwise it'll be used to legislate and be watered down to worthlessness as has happened to our own) that clearly states the gov't's form and mandates and the rights of the citizens. Something along the lines of the Roman Republic, just without the enslave everyone mentality and a codified constitution.

Sorry. I prefer a government that receives it's powers from the consent of those it governs...not the other way around. I prefer the reality that's based on the self evident truth that all mankind is created equally. That we are all endowed with certain unalienable rights.......rights that do not come from anyone or any government of this earth. Your right to speak your mind here on these pages, your right to freedom and citizenship aren't debatable by any court or government of this earth. Or am I mistaken?

With all due respect, I'm sure glad our Founding Fathers came first....and opinions such as yours later on. Given role reversal, neither you nor I would have the freedom to speak our minds on public forums such as this.

Founding Fathers who based their declaration of independence on endowed rights. Unalienable rights. Rights no government can give nor take from you...as a citizen of this great nation. Your opinion is the antithesis of this, you believe your rghts are derived from some government entity, I merely disagree with you. And am happy they came first...and opinions like yours came second.
The DoI is a non-binding resolution with no legal basis, the 'rights' you enjoy were dictated by the gov't. You should be grateful, there were no 'rights' originally, it took the Bill of Rights getting added to the Constitution (and only partially) for you to have them.
Your misunderstanding is nearly complete.
The Bill of Rights did not give us rights. It ensured the government would recognize and defend the rights we have because we exist.

Really? By that logic I can do whatever I want and call it a right. Unless both society and the gov't agrees with me, it wouldn't end well. 'Rights' are social norms backed by law which is why owning slaves once once a right while today not being a slave is considered a right. As society and gov't policy changes, so do rights. The only constant rights are things like not getting murdered or robbed but this has more to do with continued relevance (nobody likes getting killed or mugged no matter what time they live in) then any BS 'natural right'.
But by all means, live in your fantasy land while you still can. By the desperate tone you have, I suspect you're starting to notice your worldview collapsing.
The way our rights function is quite fascinating. One interesting example would be the inevitable result of those believing the government cannot give or take away your rights. I guarantee that should they decide to act upon this belief in a way they seem to be condoning....they will very quickly find how completely said rights are taken away.
